Communities watching out for communities

See a threat online? Report it here.

Watchkeeper connects houses of worship, schools and community groups to a team that reads online threats for a living. You report what you see. We check it, and if it points toward violence, we get it to the police agency that covers the target.

  • Run by the National Community Threat Intelligence Center (NCTIC), an independent nonprofit.
  • Not a government agency. We do not arrest, investigate crimes or enforce laws.
  • We look at threats of violence, not opinions. Hateful speech alone is not what we report.
  • Open to every community, every faith, in all 50 states.
What happens

How Watchkeeper works

You report

Send a link or screenshot of a post, message or video that threatens people.

We check

An analyst reviews it: is a target named, is there a time, a place, a means.

We alert

Credible threats go to the law enforcement agency with jurisdiction, and to partners at risk.

Report a threat

Tell us what you saw

Only the link or description is required. You can stay anonymous, but contact details help if we need to ask a question.

Reports go to NCTIC analysts. We share threat information with law enforcement. We do not publish your name.
